“OLED is a piece of art”

HongKong University of Science and
Technology "Father of OLED"
CRT
(Cathode Ray Tube)
CRT is a display technology that uses an electron gun electronically to stimulate glass plates.
It has some problems with making it thin as the glass cathode ray tube is very heavy
and there must be a space between the TV screen and the electron gun.
PDP
(Plasma Display Panel)
PDP is a display technology that discharges gases with electrical impulses to send out lights.
With high voltage, it results in high power consumption and heat generation,
and as a result, it is gradually fading into history.
LCD
(Liquid Crystal Display)
LCD controls the amount of light by emitting it from the backlight, and implements the display
by passing a variety of layers like color filters and polarizer. Due to this complex structure,
it has some limits that cause the halo effect and it is difficult to implement perfect black color.
OLED
(Organic Light Emitting Diode)
OLED is an organic light emitting Diode, meaning it gives out light without a separate light source.
It is state-of-the-art display technology that boasts perfect image quality and
an exceptional degree of design freedom with a single, thin, 0.95 mm panel.
